The European Institute for Commercial Communications Education – edcom – has launched the CALL FOR PAPERS for its seventh Commercial Communications Education Conference which will take place at Fundação D. Pedro IV, Av. D. Carlos I in Lisbon on 17 May 2013.
Under the title “Consumers as Creators – Is the Tail Wagging the Dog?” this year’s edcom Conference invites both researchers and students to identify the role of consumers in shaping today’s brands.
Papers may examine:
The role of consumers in the co-creation of brands
The changing relationships between brands & consumers and the impact consumers have in shaping today’s brands
Ways of engaging consumers to interact with brands and the extent to which this interaction can or should be controlled by brands
Co-creation as innovation
We encourage papers that:
Present current research outcomes
Track trends or developments
Describe case studies or works in progress
Are speculative projections or challenge existing paradigms
Give a context to emerging practices of co-creation and user generated content
Examine the ability of heavy users and fans to live brands intensely and their impact on communications strategies
Look into the digital environment and its effects on the relations between consumers and brands and on co-creation
Successful applicants will be invited to present their work during the edcom Conference in Lisbon on 17 May 2013.
