EFCCE at the Golden Drum advertising Festival and Media meeting Portorož, 5-9 October 2009
The European Foundation for Commercial Communications Education had the opportunity to present its projects as well as the campaigns of the finalist students of the Ad Venture competition during a session dedicated to what academia and the Marcom industry can achieve together, at the Golden Drum advertising Festival and Media meeting.

In 2000 the University of Texas’ Advertising Department published a white paper about the future of advertising education. One of the conclusions was that “Advertising educational programs that muster the courage to think innovatively in recasting tradition will build smarter, stronger, braver advertising people. And all of us in this revolutionary field will be reminded at every turn why what we do is of value”.
What is the situation in Europe? The EFCCE - created by EACA - is seeking to create a more effective collaboration between academia and the Communications Industry in order to set the best standards both in knowledge and practice.
Ad Venture finalist students at the Festival
Andreea and Raluca from the finalist team: Spot Light had the opportunity to attend the entire Festival. They attended various presentations such as the TBWA and the Leo Burnett seminars and the Golden Drum Student Films Competition.
They said: “Our week in Portorož was very busy: attending seminars, presenting our campaign, meeting new people from the advertising industry and all this in a beautiful place.”
