A planner You represent the consumer/citizen in the strategic/creative process. You harness research to inform briefs and create strategies for the client. You analyse perceptions, motivation needs and conduct trend-watching. You outline the brief’s essence, develop a strategy to take it forward and then come up with a communication plan and campaign strategy. A creative You turn creative problems and strategies into ads. You are responsible for ideas, creating them and then selling them. You will develop the planner’s ideas, think up ads which will give the client you are working for a strong competitive advantage and put across the communication message in the best possible manner. A producer You help the team realise their vision. You oversee the progress of work from creative brief to production whether print, tv or web. The job demands both creative and administrative ability. You will raise budget estimates for the account manager, manage workloads and production schedules.
